Darlington laneway mural duo by Nastia Gladushchenko in Katoomba

Darlington laneway mural duo

Commissioned by private clients in Darlington, Sydney ‘Reaching for the sunlight/glowing in the moonlight’ is a mural celebrating the beauty of plants in both the day and night. I’ve used this duality as a metaphor for the two homes that sit beside each other but have their own character and soul. Despite a colour palette that overlaps slightly, each piece has it’s own mood due to the selection of unique favourite plants. ‘Sunlight’ features palms, tropical foliage, hibiscus flowers and pinky tones reminiscent of the flower while the ‘Moonlight’ work features birds of paradise flowers and leaves, ferns and other foliage in deeper tones found in the bird of paradise flower itself.
