Curiosity isn't Dead
Another piece from my AP portfolio on nostalgia, this large illustration is of a photo I took inside of a store where I found this beautiful plant with a magnifying glass just calling my name. It reminded me of a cartoon I once saw, where they were teaching the viewers on the concept of curiosity, which I interpret as a key factor to the building blocks of childhood. I displayed this through the use of dull monotonous graphite tones in the background, as to bring out the vibrance within the deeper look in the magnifying glass to display a ladybug that one may not have seen at first glance had there not have been color there. Upon inspection, you may not have noticed that this was drawn on a peach toned paper.
I am a college student currently studying Music Ed at Olivet Nazarene University. Previously studying Studio Art, I have taken college level courses for art throughout high school gaining awards for my pieces in events such as the Scholastic Art Awards and a finalist position in a local Fine Arts Showcase. I have a love of all things color, and enjoy excelling in all types of mediums, as I am a lover of learning! You will notice a lot of my portfolio pieces reside from my AP Portfolio, where I themed it on nostalgia and the use of color to demonstrate the emotion. I hope to inspire you with joy on your journey!
