Crescent Street summer 2021 by Valerie LAriviere in Montreal
Crescent Street summer 2021
I got commissioned by Crescent street association in Montreal to do a gigantic street mural. Crescent st. is a very important pedestrian street in downtown Montreal where there's a vivid nightlife scene, and many terrasses. The commission had to include giant 3D letters saying "Terrasse Crescent", with minimalistic designs that gives a flow to people walking up and down the street. It had to be family friendly but also makes a reference to bars and restaurant.

Meet the Artist
Montreal, CanadaI am a multidisciplinary, french Canadian artist from Montreal. My creative pictorial vision has been shaped through the many forms of art that have influenced me over the years, be it dance, ceramics, sculpture or illustration. I started painting at the age of 10 and spent most of my twenties exploring different medias and techniques, trying to find the right fit for my creativity. Thanks to my training as a graphic artist and studies in fashion design, that gave me additional techniques that have enabled me to polish my aesthetic sense.
At this time, oil on canvas is my medium of choice, but I still like to play with different materials to fuel my creativity. Because of my experiences I am able to fit any style that my customer needs. I am continuously doing original artwork, but a big part of my work is commissioned portraits for my collectors. I have experience in oils and acrylics, as well as murals (interior and exterior). I've also done many chalkboard lettering for bars and restaurants.
