Community Mural - Stockport County FC by Oskar with a K in Manchester

Community Mural - Stockport County FC

In collaboration with poet Ruth Awolola, we created a two-story mural in Edgeley, Stockport, celebrating the Stockport County FC chant “The Scarf My Father Wore.” Through workshops, Ruth led participants in crafting a poem that became part of the mural, while I guided them in painting its design. Each participant contributed, taking ownership of a letter in the phrase “Father Wore.” Unveiled with local press, council members, football players, and youth artists, the project received widespread acclaim. Supported by Grit Studios, County Community Trust, and The Writing Squad, it was a highlight of Stockport Town of Culture.
