The brief was to paint three well know architects selected by the client and use those portraits to fill the space and inspire ideas. The abstract shapes were used to represent raw ideas in which they start and are slowly refined and evolve into the final concept which becomes a building.
IL is a multidisciplinary artist who’s works span over 10 years. Having moved to Melbourne only 5 years ago he has had an impact not only in the street art culture of Melbourne, but also exhibiting amongst many of the well known local and international artists that have graced Melbourne’s finest galleries.
IL uses predominantly aerosol for his works, and his creative inspiration is drawn from observations and self reflection from the world around him. As a contemporary artist, a lot of his works are “character” based portraiture or figurative focused with abstract fusion to enhance the concepts both visually but also from a concept based perspective.
IL aims to engage and evoke conversation and spark ideas amongst the viewers through his works.
Having worked with large clients for private commissions, he has also worked to incorporate visual stimulation and re establish community ties with his works with local councils.
With such a distinct “style” that remains despite continually trying to evolve and change within the landscape, you will have seen his works around Melbourne’s hidden streets and laneways.
