Come as You Are by Rob in London

This was a fun experiment in making a faux antique gilt mirror piece, which put into practice some ideas I’d been batting around for a while. Lots of processes and textures involved to make it look like it’s had a hard old life. I felt that after a hard year for many, I liked the message that no matter what you’ve been through, where you’re at, and where you’re going, you are just fine as you are. The situation may be bad but that doesn’t have to change you, here and now you are enough. Even though this one is destined for my own walls I had blast making it so, if anyone wants a commission similar to this please do get in touch as I’d love to do more like this. The item was hand drawn, painted in reverse, water gild 24ct gold leaf, oil gild 24ct gold leaf, textural effect, water gilt imitation silver leaf.
