Colourful garden and Tui by Sherrill Bentley in Auckland

Sherrill Bentley - Te Rarawa/English/Irish All my life I have loved to work with my hands to make things and have developed a passion for colour, texture and patterns. These elements are incorporated into my art. I am inspired by vibrant colours and beautiful outdoor scenes. I work from my home studio is in Onehunga, Auckland and exhibit my paintings on canvas in group exhibitions around New Zealand. I enjoy supporting charities so regularly donate works and get involved in their fundraising campaigns . I also paint murals and have completed many Chorus cabinets and an electrical cabinet for Vector. My favourite subjects are beaches, birds, bush and gardens. In 2022 I painted a whale tail for World Wildlife Fund for the Whale Tale Sculpture trail around Auckland city. Mine was displayed outside Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World on Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay. I am delighted that my tail sold at auction for $14,750 with all proceeds going to WWF to help protect whales.
