Colourful and inviting mural for a cafe
The owners of a cafe, Marika and Rob, approached
me to design and draw a playful, engaging and
unique wall mural for their cafe front. I used abstract
shapes, bold brand colours and plant motifs to create
an attractive and fun wall art. Below is the making of
image and the following other images are the final
outcome, which can still be seen in Prenzlauer Berg
in Berlin. Opened in 2019.
Meet the Artist
London, United KingdomI'm a visual designer and illustrator based in London. My work is a playground for colour, playful animals and shapes. You may find bold minimalistic drawings, experimental use of colour, layering, shapes and composition and playful cool cats or dogs having birthday parties.
I use screen and riso printing mediums to design unique wall prints for contemporary and playful interiors. I discovered screen printing while studying interior design in Glasgow. After graduation, I moved to Berlin where, whilst working as an interior designer, I kept exploring the colours, layering and techniques of screen printing. I visited the BBK artist studios in Kreuzberg and took part in local markets. I still feel that Berlin gave me the push to test my own boundaries and explore creative freedom. Fast forward 3 years and as of autumn 2019, I started studying at the Royal College of Art in London which I graduated in summer of 2021. Today I live and work between London and Tallinn.
Previously, I have worked together with the wonderful Plant Base vegan cafe in Berlin for their mural and recent vegan cookbook cover design. I have also helped the Leeds based Bowery cafe design their new pattern for branding. I'm currently working on and developing projects on moths and a card game about carbon emissions.
