Meet the Artist
Melbourne, AustraliaHi my name is James and I am a Melbourne-based cinematographer who has been working on narrative and commercial films since 2014.
After graduating from Swinburne University with a Bachelor's in Film and TV in 2013, I emerged with an organic approach to composition and lighting. Additional work as a camera assistant and rental technician has given me a high level of technical camera proficiency.
My work can often be described as naturalistic and emotive, opting for a handheld look to feel connected and a part of the scene. I am well known for my collaborative nature and ability to work closely with directors and actors.
I recently shot a short film called “Friends of Mine” that was selected in both St Kilda and Cannes Shorts 2022 film festivals. Currently, I am working on a number of short films, video productions and commercial projects, whilst seeking to expand and grow my network and skill set further.
I look forward to working and connecting with new and emerging filmmakers.
