Club 777 Hangout Space Bench Painting by Oliver Gadoury, Illustrator & Designer in Montreal
Club 777 Hangout Space Bench Painting
Summer 2024 marked my painting debut in Canada with a commission for Club 777 Vintage, a prominent vintage store on Montreal's lively Rue St. Denis. Tasked with transforming a sizable white bench, I drew inspiration from Y2K culture to create 28 distinct illustrations, including skateboarders, souped-up Subarus, lava lamps, and flip phones. The bold colour palette ensures the piece stands out, adding visual appeal to Club 777’s already intriguing storefront.
Meet the Artist
Montreal, CanadaI’m a Montreal-based illustrator and designer with a passion for visual storytelling, humanist branding and beautifully-designed websites. My work is inspired by the life going on around me — the city in which I reside, the people that surround me and the activities I participate in. If I were to describe my work in one word, perhaps it would be sonder — the realisation that every single person around us is living their own individual existence just as unique as our own. I’m utterly fascinated by the world around us and I actively try to make sense of it every day through illustration and design.
