Chroma Mural by HUMM HOUSE in Encinitas

The client wanted to beautify an indoor manufacturing room in their printing facility with a custom mural. They wanted something colorful, but not too bright or distracting. I came up with a design inspired by the CMYK printing process itself, representing the way these base colors layer on top of one another to produce an array of different colors for printing. I chose more earthy, softer tones of the classic cyan, magenta and yellow to create a joyful, yet soothing backdrop to their workspace. Some of the abstracted shapes represent the printing process, including labels and spools and ink blots. I designed and painted the mural for the client, transforming the stark white space into a cheerful working environment for the employees.
