Chocolate Donut painting by Tracy Ostmann Haschke Art in Chicago
Chocolate Donut painting
This painting on panel was inspired by the still life tradition, painting to explore the soothing process of observing simple forms. Crafted with acrylic, the artist focused on the wrinkles of the pastry and the rolling folds of chocolate glaze. Pastry Study suggests the meditative quality of everyday objects and invites viewers to appreciate subtle beauty. Medium: Acrylic on panel. Dimensions: 8"x8".
Meet the Artist
Chicago, United StatesI am a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist with a specialty in painting. I create oil and acrylic works on canvas, paper, and wood that are typically representational and often of a narrative, figurative genre. I've enjoyed an extensive career traveling to museums, corporations, and private residences to create on site murals and/or decorative art projects. In the past I participated in Chicago's prominent art fairs such as Old Town Art Fest, and Wells Street Art Fest; where I received first place in painting in 2015. Other endeavors include teaching adults still life drawing and figure drawing at the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, IL and Highland Park art center in Highland Park, IL. I work and reside on the west side of Chicago in East Garfield park with my husband, two kids, two dogs, and a cat.
