Chinese ink-style mural - by Ava Lee in London

I'm a professional artist with formal training in both painting and sculpture. My solid academic background enables me to undertake commissions ranging from classical master styles to contemporary approaches. Much of my mural and painting work draws inspiration from traditional Eastern art. Through my travels to temples and Buddhist grottoes across China, I have studied ancient murals and sculptures that continue to shape my understanding of form and composition. This research has influenced a number of commissioned works in the style of Chinese ink painting, featuring landscapes and animals. I have also studied fresco techniques to recreate works from the Renaissance period. With a BA background in sculpture, my practice includes working with clay, pottery, plaster, resin, and cement. Past projects range from facial cast sculptures to customised portrait pieces that merge realism with subtle abstraction. Digital tools such as ZBrush and SketchUp also play an important role in my 3D modelling and design process. My commissions cover a broad spectrum — murals, wall paintings, realistic drawings, abstract works, and sculpture. Every project begins with conversation and reference gathering, followed by sketches and refinements through to completion. I value the moments when ideas, emotions, and inspiration come together through communication. I always look forward to new creative challenges and collaborations.
