“Meet Derek, the ultimate Flash Gordon superfan! Derek has been in love with the intergalactic adventures of Flash, Dale, and Ming the Merciless since he was a kid. His room is decked out with posters, action figures, and even a life-size cardboard cutout of the Savior of the Universe himself. When he’s not at work, you can find him binge-watching the film, reading the comic books, or listening to the iconic Queen soundtrack on repeat. He knows every line, every plot twist, and every campy special effect by heart. His friends tease him about his obsession, but he doesn’t care. To him, Flash Gordon represents everything that’s great about classic sci-fi - the larger-than-life heroes, the dastardly villains, the wild adventures across strange new worlds. It’s a world he loves to escape to, if only for a little while. So if you ever need to find Derek, just look for the guy wearing the “Flash! Ah-ahhh!” t-shirt, probably humming the theme song under his breath. He may be a bit of a nerd, but his passion is out of this world!
