Carmels Tram

In association with Artforce, a local council initiative I designed and painted a traffic signal box (TSB) on the corner of Vulture Street and Edmondstone Road in West End, Brisbane. Carmel Court, the building adjacent to my TSB was built in 1937 as rental accommodation for a booming workforce that wanted to live close to the tram lines which once ran along Vulture Street. My TSB design pays homage to the Art Deco architectural style that was so popular at the time provides a snapshot into the local history of the area. In 2024 I was invited back by Artforce to complete an extension to the TSB design complementing the current artwork.
