Captain Gibson
This is a piece from my degree show. The theme was on bringing stories of women and the LGBT community within the 1900s forward and obscuring vintage ideas of gender in the guise of the Imperial Gothic. “Captain Gibson” is a painted Gibson Girl dressed in a British Military Captain’s uniform. At the time, women were not allowed in the military and the style of hair was one of the most popular at the time

London, United KingdomI’m an illustrator and artist from London. Most of the time I use history as my muse, usually the Victorians, Tudors and WW1. However, I also love fairytales and fantasy. I’m a big fan of all things gothic and eerie but can work with any topic and prompt. I graduated in 2024 with a Fist Class degree in Fine Art.
