The theme of the ViaRT Award this year is "1.5 Degrees Celsius - Create for Climate". I envisioned a future where Singapore is grappling with severe flooding due to climate change. The illustration showcases a resilient community adapting creatively to their new environment.
LiChun is an accomplished illustrator originally from Shanghai, now based in Singapore. Her impressive accolades include the Self-promotion Award Merit from the iJungle Illustration Award, Runner-up in the Creative Quarterly 76 (Illustration: Professional), an Honorable Mention in the 3X3 International Illustration Competition, and being shortlisted in the Communication Arts Competition Illustration.
LiChun’s artwork is distinguished by her keen observations of small details, which she masterfully translates into intricate visuals and metaphors to tell captivating stories.
Her diverse client list features prominent names such as McDonald’s, Esplanade Singapore, Singapore National Library, National Environment Agency of Singapore, Ministry of Social and Family Development Singapore, Amour Publishing, CTC Global Singapore, Mercurics, Robot Playground, Rachel Poo, and ViaRT.
She has showcased her work in numerous exhibitions, including Dia’Spora at Art Seasons Gallery & Y Art Project (2024), Panache: A Singaporean Mosaic curated by Ji Ying (2023), Zzcestistar Artists Zine and others exhibition in Shanghai (2023), Conrad Centennial x Y Art Pop show (2023), 3x3 International Illustration Professional Show No.19 in New York (2022), Bologna Children’s Illustration in Italy (2022), and the Lasalle College Graduates Show (2015).
