By the sea
This is one of several paintings I made which was inspired by a trip to Spain. With this I wanted to create an oasis, because sometimes the world feels like a desert, with more than enough bleak misery to go around, and any small contribution to amend that is a fine undertaking, and worthwhile. I have a lot of fond memories of the sea, as grew up in a small coastal city and would often visit the beach in the summertime. This painting represents those fond memories of warmth and light.

Melbourne, AustraliaHello, my name is Steven. I am a visual artist based at Bighouse Arts Studio in North Coburg, Melbourne. I have many years experience and training in visual art design, painting and drawing. I have a visual art & design degree and other arts qualifications, and experience doing a solo exhibition of original paintings at Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy. I also have more than a decade of experience making and exhibiting artwork in various locations across Melbourne, Victoria and New South Wales. I am a Bluethumb Art Prize and Greenway Art Prize Finalist.
I'll engage with you throughout the design process to bring your ideas to life, to a fully complete and unique piece. I can provide you with updates along the way - as many as you like! - as the work progresses, and usually respond to queries straightaway, or within the hour. To start, you just need to reach out with an idea of what you would like: I'll take care of everything else.
I have created lots of artwork over the years, especially paintings. I am deeply committed to my craft. I love working to make unique, beautiful artwork which may be treasured for years to come. Personally, I love how art attempts the impossible in its attempts to express emotion and memory, the most true things in life. I hope to work with you soon.
