Brookmill Pub - St John's, London by Butch Attai in London

This mural was created for the newly refurbished garden of the Brookmill Pub in St Johns, SE8, as part of a wider renovation under new ownership. The design was adapted from a series of geometric, layered canvas works I was creating at the time. Over three days, I scaled the composition up and added stencilled and hand-painted foliage to bring colour, texture, and energy to the space. Translating a detailed studio process onto a large wall within a tight timeframe was a challenge, and given more time I would have loved to build up even more layers and depth. Despite this, the finished mural became a bright and playful backdrop for the pub’s new outdoor area.
