Book cover Voces Fragmentadas by Jacqueline Soni in Mexico City
Book cover Voces Fragmentadas
I created this image as the cover for the book Fragmented Voices (Voces Fragmentadas), an anthology of childhood in Mexico. The image is based on one of the stories that make up the anthology, which is of great significance regarding the violence and broken childhoods experienced by many children in Mexico.
I am a Mexican artist known as Gala. Im passionate about illustration and graphic arts. I already worked for Save the Children Mexico as an illustrator for the book Voces Fragmentadas and other publications. I also work as a resident illustrator for the magazine Ecos Literarios and take commisions for illustrator, sculpture and tattoo design.
Im also a handpoke tattoo artist for the studio Tinta Violeta and work a lot as a guest artist in the city of Chicago for the past two years.
