I’m Poppy aka Sosoraso, a chronically ill, queer, disabled POC artist living in Ireland and every illustration I create is an act of devotion. My work is rooted in story and history, blending intricate borders, ornate frames, and tender character studies inspired by illuminated manuscripts, folklore, and art nouveau. I research deeply before I begin, reading and studying when a piece is tied to a specific era or culture, ensuring authenticity and reverence for the worlds I bring to life. Every artwork is entirely hand-drawn, highly rendered, and created to hold the weight of your story. I share my studio with my cat, Dune, who believes she’s the true assistant here keeping me company while I draw and occasionally demanding her own break times for snacks and naps.
