Blooming Blossoms by AXR_artist in New York

On the 8th of March of 2022, as part of the celebrations of Women’s month. Mexican artist Arantxa X. Rodríguez (AXR) unveiled “Blooming Blossoms,” a hand-painted mural at the OBGYN ward at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx. This mural was made possible thanks to a City Artist Corps grant from the City of New York that she received last October 2021. “Blooming Blossoms” adorns the walls in the maternity ward and brings light and color to the section of the hospital where life is born. This mural, designed to spread positivity throughout the space, expresses how atoms, cells, and tissue assimilate to form our universe and the world as we know it. “Blooming Blossoms” is her second mural at this hospital; the first one, “The formation of abundance,” decorates the electrical escalators of the first floor.
