Blame by Ed in Toronto

Blame

Painted as part of a series titled Passengers. Passengers expresses an aspect of being where mind, body, and soul are in various states of transit. Motion is relative to environment and not limited to physical movement. Despite the nature of our positions in space and time we are passengers to the images and verses that inhabit our thoughts; even when we are not conscious of it. The canvas forms the frame. Acrylics, oils and inks are overlapped generously, and sometimes sparsely, using combinations of pallet knives, sponges and brushes. The subjects may be contextual in their environments or an abstraction created by the texture of paint and colour. The resulting scenes are filtered through curtains of visual noise, compelling the viewer to interpret the nature and tone of the images they see. Each painting depicts a story within and on the surface, behind and in front, ready to be told from the perspective of eyes that gaze upon it.
