Black Lives Matter! by Turtle Child in Cincinnati

The "Black Lives Matter!" mural, which was completed on the street in front of Cincinnati's City Hall. A team of 17 black artists were brought together by the amazing Alandes Powell to make history in our city. Each artist was tasked with putting a design, that related back to a poem Alandes wrote herself, titled "We Want What You Want", in each letter and the exclamation point. I designed and completed the letter "K" with the help of my best friend Olivia Cassinelli. This was my first time doing my own design for a mural and being paid what I'm worth. A very rewarding experience. After the completion of the mural, we decided to form an non-profit artist collective called Black Art Speaks where we aim to provide support to underprivileged creatives in pursuing their craft and making sure they get paid for it.
