Kamal Dulal, born on 6th June 1990 in Tarkeshwor-06, Kathmandu, Nepal, is a tattoo artist and painter with over a decade of professional experience, specializing in Nepali traditional art. Deeply rooted in his cultural heritage, his work is inspired by symbols, deities, mandalas, and ancient patterns that have been passed down for generations. For Kamal, art is not only a profession but also a spiritual practice and a way to preserve Nepal’s cultural identity. Whether on skin or canvas, his creations reflect meaningful stories, carrying both personal and collective significance. His artistry has been showcased in multiple national and international exhibitions, including the National Fine Art Exhibition (2081 and 2082 BS), Bagmati Provincial Fine Art Exhibition (2081 BS), and the Charity Art Party and Exhibition (2021 AD). He has also actively participated in the Nepal Tattoo Convention across several years (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024 AD), the Himalayan Tattoo Summit 0.1 (2024 AD), and the Pune Tattoo Festival 2.0 in India (2017), proudly representing Nepal’s tattoo culture on a larger stage. His achievements include being awarded Winner of the “Heritage of Nepal” poster art competition at the Himalayan Tattoo Summit (2024), second place in the Small Black and Grey Tattoo category at the Nepal Tattoo Convention (2019), and second runner-up in Geometric and Dot Work Tattoo at the Pune Tattoo Festival (2017). Currently, Kamal runs his own studio, Mystic Ink Nepal, based in Kathmandu, where he continues to innovate within both traditional and modern tattooing. Through his studio, he not only creates deeply personal artworks for his clients but also nurtures new talent in the industry. His aspiration is to further establish Nepali tattoo art on the global platform, participate in more international conventions, and inspire the next generation of artists to honor cultural roots while exploring new creative directions.
