Meet the Artist
New Delhi, India💡 What Inspires Me
For me, inspiration lies in the subtle details of the human face—the way light catches the curve of a cheekbone, the expression captured in a glance, or the unique story written in someone's features. I am deeply drawn to the balance of semi-realism, where the precision of anatomy meets the freedom of artistic expression. It allows me to capture the recognizable truth of a person while leaving room for stylistic, creative interpretation.
🎨 What I Love About Creating
Creating a portrait is an incredible journey of transformation. What I love most about the process is:
The Magic of the Eyes: There is a specific moment in every portrait—usually when detailing the eyes—where the drawing suddenly "wakes up" and feels alive.
The Play of Values: I love the tactile process of building up form, using deep contrast and soft highlights to give a flat page three-dimensional depth and weight.
Capturing Emotion: It’s incredibly satisfying to translate a fleeting mood or a distinct personality onto paper, making the viewer feel a genuine connection to the subject.
💪 My Skills
When it comes to bringing a portrait to life, I’ve spent time honing the specific techniques that make semi-realism stand out:
Mastering Form & Anatomy: A strong understanding of facial structure, proportions, and planes, ensuring that even with stylistic choices, the underlying anatomy feels grounded and correct.
Controlling Textures & Blending: Whether working with smooth skin tones or sharp, detailed hair, I know how to control edges and gradients to guide the viewer's eye right where it needs to go.
Striking the Perfect Balance: The ability to seamlessly blend realistic features with expressive, stylized elements—giving each piece a distinct, artistic signature.
