Beneath the Moonlight by SOSH Art in Miami

Beneath the Moonlight

Beneath the Moonlight is a portrait of my dear friend, Vivian Prince. This piece signifies a transitional phase in her life. She has learned to love herself and seek out her own happiness. She is sitting on the beach in St. Petersburg Florida thousands of miles from her home in Taiwan, newly married and happy to have had the courage to fight for the life she wanted. She holds herself together gently, which at first might appear as a protective position but upon second glance her fixed gaze into the viewer’s eyes and the staggered open placement of her feet portray an intense inner strength and confidence. She is a symbol of “My Utopia,” not a perfect world but one in which people are brave enough to love themselves. It may sound simple but to truly love oneself and feel at peace is an endless journey replete twists and turns.
