Beaumaris Landmark Mural by Daiana Ingleton in Melbourne
Beaumaris Landmark Mural
(Beaumaris Concourse, Post Office Wall)
Painted in May and June 2022, this landmark mural was conceived and managed by Neighbourhood Watch 3193 and myself. The project involved extensive coordination with Concourse Traders and Bayside City Council, culminating in an official opening by the Mayor of Bayside.
The mural serves as a visual gateway to Beaumaris’ rich heritage, biodiversity, and indigenous history.
Features:
• The iconic Weedy Sea Dragon, Pelicans, and Black Swans of Ricketts Point.
• Recognition of the shell midden and ancient freshwater well, alongside the Yellow Yam Daisy and Kangaroo Crab Apple (flowers traditionally worn by Boon wurrung women).
• A tribute to the lost Beaumaris Sea Baths (1934), Keefer’s Boat Shed (1984), and Hutchinson’s Bathing Box.
• The historic Great Southern Hotel (now Beaumaris Hotel).
• Representations of extinct shark teeth, honoring the area’s world-renowned fossil sites.
• A dedicated section featuring famous local artist Clarice Beckett (1887-1935) at work, symbolizing the area's long-standing art heritage.
Completed with assistance from local volunteers. Additional street lighting was approved and installed by the council to light the mural and to improve the feeling of safety for local residents at night.
Surface: Large-scale outdoor laneway wall.

Since winning a mural competition with Neighborhood Watch in 2019, I have dedicated myself to transforming urban and residential spaces with engaging and vibrant art. My work spans a diverse range of surfaces—from large-scale building exteriors, signal boxes, roller doors, telephone poles to interior walls and more.
I prioritise being a client-first artist. Rather than sticking to a single style or material, I focus on translating your specific vision into a cohesive design. Highlights have been painting community-focused murals for organizations like Neighbourhood Watch 3193, Bayside Council, SandyStreetArt and Plan International. I am extremely grateful towards all my clients and express that in the work I do.
