I am delighted to showcase my digital design work for BDE, a dynamic London collective that hosts events for the vibrant LGBTIA+ community. As their creative partner, I had the incredible opportunity to reimagine their logo and visual identity, infusing it with a fresh and inclusive perspective that truly sets them apart. With a clear directive to create something entirely unique and bold, I embarked on a creative journey to capture the essence of BDE's spirit. The result is a visually striking logo and visual identity that reflects the collective's commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and celebration. The redesigned logo serves as a powerful symbol, embodying the fearless and confident nature of BDE. Through bold typography, vibrant colors, and innovative design elements, it exudes a sense of energy and empowerment that resonates with the LGBTIA+ community. Building upon the foundation of the logo, the visual identity was crafted to create a cohesive and immersive experience. From event posters to social media graphics, each design element is carefully curated to evoke a sense of excitement, inclusivity, and unapologetic authenticity. BDE's events are known for their vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, where people from all walks of life can come together to express themselves freely. It was important for me to capture this essence in the visual identity, ensuring that it reflects the collective's commitment to providing a safe and celebratory space for the LGBTIA+ community. By reimagining BDE's logo and visual identity, I aimed to create a visual language that not only captures attention but also fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment. It is a testament to the collective's commitment to pushing boundaries, embracing diversity, and celebrating individuality. I am immensely proud of the collaboration with BDE and the opportunity to contribute to their journey of creating bold and inclusive events. Through my digital design work, I hope to have captured the spirit of BDE and conveyed their dedication to creating a vibrant and empowering experience for the LGBTIA+ community.

Meet the Artist

Katie

Bristol, United Kingdom

Hi there! I'm Katie, a multidisciplinary Artist and Coach based in Bristol. My unique perspective on art stems from my experience as a Coach, where I have developed a deep understanding of themes such as gender, sexuality, and relationships. My art serves as a reflection of this knowledge and is characterized by its focus on the LGBTQIA+ community and queer topics, bringing visibility to often underrepresented perspectives. My work is a powerful expression of the complexities of identity and the human experience. I use multiple mediums to add depth and nuance to important conversations, particularly around mental health and LGBTQIA+ topics. From playful posters promoting events to thought-provoking exhibitions that create conversations around big (and sometimes sensitive) topics, and short animations for socials that playfully catch the eye. I create art that inspires and challenges the status quo. As a Coach, I help individuals navigate through challenging moments, helping the fog shift and the "I don't know what to do" moments become clearer. I provide much-needed space and time for individuals to be with themselves, helping them navigate their way to their own advice, help, and solutions. I make my clients feel completely seen and heard, helping them regain the confidence to think for themselves. I am dedicated to creating a more equitable and just world through my work as both an Artist and a Coach. My art is a celebration of individuality and a call for increased understanding and acceptance for all.
