I’m Anna Yakimenko -AiNi is my artistic name (as I sign my artwork). I am Kazakhstan-born, Chicago-based multimedia artist. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in fine art from Kazakhstan State University. I moved to Chicago, the US in 2006 with my husband and son. I started to do custom portraits and wall murals for daycare. This is how my art career started. And little by little I started to find new clients through word of mouth. I also participate in art shows and festivals on the streets of Chicago and the suburbs. Nowadays I’m working with some interior designers. They invited me to their projects to create unique custom wall murals, paintings, and even painting furniture, changing the surface finish of fireplaces, frames, etc. I am passionate about my work! It’s a time challenge, brainstorming, and stream of creativity.
I love to paint on big surfaces and huge walls. My recent projects were for immersive Van Gogh show in Chicago, New York, Columbus, Cleveland, Nashville, and Boston. Though I’m very thankful for the great opportunity as a wall muralist for the past two years. Each project I had done in a very short period of time. I couldn’t imagine that I can make a painting on a 400 square feet wall in two days. So this fact I found out about myself - I can be very productive when I’m inspired and motivated. I feel it is my mission in life to create beauty around me and bring positive emotions to others.
