The Baku is a Japanese fantasy creature originating from Chinese folklore, which feeds on dreams and nightmares. In recent years, the usual appearance of the baku has changed. The Baku is represented here by the woman, who is leaning on the shoulder of the sleeping man, feeding on his dreams. The dimensions of the canvas are 90x120cm and the canvas is unique.

Meet the Artist
Vancouver, CanadaSince the age of seven, the painting integrated my daily life and since I wish to make this passion my profession. Currently in Canada and being 21 years old, I decided to embark on this life project as a full time artist.
The message I wish to convey through my art is the idea of power that does not stop at a body, existing everywhere in each individual as well as cultural appropriation.I wanted to combine Japanese myths and real contemporary women. Japan is for me an inspiration both culturally and mythologically because of the idea it supports of women.
