Bag Of Tricks by Valerie Auersperg in Auckland

I am an artist and illustrator living in Auckland, New Zealand whose artworks stand out with bright colours and a humorous take on themes of memory, pop culture, and my own mental health aimed to bring a sense of joy and a smile to the viewer. Besides creating illustrations and paintings I have also created murals in private homes, offices, and public spaces in Sydney, Australia and all over New Zealand. I am a self-taught artist with a background in fashion, animation, and advertising and have exhibited in New Zealand, Australia and the US. My work has also appeared in several magazines, and I have been interviewed for numerous podcast around the world including Creative Matters (NZ), VAC Podcast (US), ARt! OK Cool (Canada) and Arts To Hearts Project (India). In 2022, I was part of the WWF Whale Tail trail in Auckland and in 2024/2025 I am part of the Kiwi Art Trail across New Zealand.
