Meet the Artist
San Diego, United StatesSan Diego based artist Cora Tang is currently accepting commissions for oil paintings, murals, logos, and branding packages.
Cora Tang began expressing her world view through visual arts as a small child. Bored with praise and approval in her angst-driven teens, she began test the boundaries of story-telling in her art. She tends to seek large audiences for her work, giving way to the balance of mutiny and commercialization in her work today.
Taking inspiration from figurative works in the style of renaissance portraiture and dutch still-life, Cora chooses a subject to give a subversive twist. She uses the chiaroscuro technique (the use of light and dark to render form) often working from a black canvas and building layers of color and light. In her commissioned paintings, she offers her audience an array of subject matter, from religious iconography to moody landscapes to deceased pets. Murals and private collections of Cora Tang’s paintings are currently on display at hundreds of locations across the country.
She designs and consults for small businesses, developing logos, branding material, and sales/marketing strategies. She specializes in hospitality spaces, and has designed and launched branding packages for heavy hitters in the spirit beverage industry.
Oil Painting, Mural, and Commercial Art clients will enroll in a unique and collaborative creative process from start to finish. Logo and Graphic Design packages include consulting hours, original sketches and concept artwork, hand-drawn elements translated into digital renderings, and final proofs/digital packaging.
