At Cahoots by Fimologi in Cape Town

I'm the artist behind Fimologi, a creative identity that’s evolved over the years, originally known as Mifologi when I first began my journey as an underground creator in 2012. My practice has grown alongside me, shaped by personal discovery and a passion for expression and storytelling through various art forms. I hold a Fine Art degree from the Michaelis School of Fine Art (Class of 2014, majored in printmaking) where I honed my skills after matriculating in 2010. Since then, my work has spanned a range of commissioned and personal projects, including paintings, murals, costumes, bespoke outfits, accessories, and other unique creations in a broad range of styles and aesthetics. At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to helping people express their identities and personal mythologies, and to explore the ineffable. I aspire to inspire viewers to be courageous in the face of what seems dark, unknown or challenging. Through Fimologi, I design and create paintings that acts as a visual extension of the self; pieces that embody character(s), stories, feelings and memories and give form to narratives / mythologies. No matter what kind of painting or project, I approach each work as a sacred expression and a celebration of Life.
