I have always been bedazzled by geometry, everything in the universe contains it in sacred form. If everything is connected by geometry, I believe we are indeed influenced by planetary movements. This piece was also created as a continuity through my exploration in textures and as part of my new series “form is content”.
Arantxa is a Mexican artist living in NYC. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including three solo shows in Mexico City. She has participated in The Affordable Art Fair in NYC, Crossroads Art Fair in Shoreditch London, Museo Internazionale Italia Arte (MIIT) in Turin, and Untitled Art Fair Miami.
AXR has participated in the United Nations annual exhibition in NYC and has made two public murals for Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, funded by The Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund in collaboration with NYC Health+Hospitals, NYFA, and was a recipient of the City Artist Corps grant. Arantxa attended ProjectArts residency program at Forest Hills, NY, public library.
At the moment Arantxa is painting murals in public schools around the 5 boroughs of NYC with an amazing NGO called Thrive Collective.
She holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts NYC (SVA), and an undergraduate diploma in Media Communications by Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico, including a yearlong exchange at Regents Business School of London.
