Art to Art series by Nehashail in Dubai

Neha Shailender is an Indian Artist making Dubai her home for 13 years. Architect by qualification and now following her passion for art. She was a student in an art school (as a hobby) till her graduation with pencils and charcoal as a medium. ‘Acrylics have given me a challenge and a direction to channel my passion’. Neha’s journey started in 2020 and there has not been a pause since then. Being a self taught artist (for this medium), every work has a story and challenge of its own. It is these stories that are reflected in her works- the warmth, compassion and love.” ‘Nehascolorpalette’ is the result of all the time spent on reflecting upon my soul-my passion and of course my hard work, teaching myself to do better with every stroke of my paint and brush. Learning never ends in any field. We learn through mistakes, challenges faced or even in the attempt to make ourselves better at what we do. Art is an ever evolving world in itself and we artists are just here to make it more surreal with each of our works. ‘My wish is to make my paintings stand out and I strive for that.’ To achieve this, an artist needs to have their signature style that sets them apart- for Neha it is her 3d art. ‘ I wanted the viewers to touch my soul and thoughts I put in my paintings!’ A fleeting thought had motivated Neha to create a style unique to match her persona and nature of her paintings. ‘ I have done a lot of research to source the materials to get the perfect texture for the final result. However, “Rome cannot be built in a day”. A month’s failed experiments led me to get the right proportions to get the perfect petal and then graduating to a flower! If anything, this process has taught me patience and the result is something to pleasing to the eye.’ Neha has used this technique so far in creating a series of 8 paintings ‘Art to Art’ which is her tribute to another Art form (Ballet). These paintings show her perspective towards the dance form wherein she has beautifully composed her canvas with the main subject (ballerina) and her floral patterns. ‘I have used flowers and petals for two reasons. They have always been my style and the second one being that anyone can relate to their qualities- delicate, beautiful, souple (in this case a ballerina). Flowers are such a lovely creation because they blend very easily- just like different shades of paint. This has probably been my inspiration to use them in all my paintings- my soul and my story.’ For me, “Art is a language that has no boundaries”. It is this thought that drives me to work hard everyday and have something to look forward to. These little stories keep me and my ‘Evergreen Brush’ going.
