Art Swap Paint Party by Alana Mays Creations in Palmerston North
Art Swap Paint Party
This is not your ordinary paint party!
The ‘Art Swap’ has a fun little twist to make it more interactive, social and unpredictable!
It’s a fun way to mix things up — everyone gets to leave their own creative touch on each canvas while trying out different painting techniques and styles along the way.
And don’t worry — this is still a fully guided paint workshop. Alana will demonstrate each step, provide guidance throughout the session and help everyone along the way, so you can feel confident and proud of your finished artwork.
If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed activity filled with creativity, laughs and a few surprises, this is definitely one to try with your family, friends or workmates!
A min spend of 6 ppl at $80 per person. Discounts apply in large groups
Meet the Artist
Palmerston North, New ZealandHello, I'm Alana, a mixed medium artist based in Palmerston North.
As a diverse artist, I love exploring a wide range of subjects rather than limiting myself to just one. My work includes landscapes, beaches, animals, florals, and more, with each piece designed to bring beauty, joy, and a sense of escapism.
I create artwork for both indoor and outdoor spaces, from original paintings and large-scale murals to custom commissions. Alongside my art practice, I host fun, beginner-friendly paint parties and provide live painting entertainment for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions.
As a lifelong artist with a deep passion for creativity, I love transforming spaces with vibrant visuals that uplift the spirit and inspire lasting happiness every time someone gazes at my artwork.
To me, art is no different from entertainment—like movies, music, or dance. It’s a form of escapism, taking you back to places or memories that hold sentimental value. Life would be dull without the arts, and I feel so grateful to call this my job.
A common denominator in my work is birds. I choose to work with this combination of subject matters due to the beauty and graceful nature of birds that represent freedom and praise as they rejoice when they sing.
I would describe my style as being mystical realism. I still place my subject matter in it’s natural environment; however, the atmosphere is too perfect to be real, giving that mystical sense to my artwork.
I aim to show creation off at its finest, as though it was the ‘Garden of Eden’ before the fall, where there was perfect harmony, joy, and no decay or predators. A lot of my ideas stem from biblical references. I subtly weave the themes of rejoice, peace, love, harmony, beauty, and royalty into my artworks and title names.
