America by Bart Vivian Art in Barrington

I grew up in Nebraska, but I also lived in Wyoming, Oregon and Nevada. Having experienced these places firsthand, I’ve always been drawn to the west. The vistas, the largess and beauty of land and sky have always inspired me. So too has Michigan, a family destination since I was born. It’s water, dunes and woods live in my memory and will always be the truest standard of beauty for me. I try to capture moments in both geographies - small moments that are big in scope. Ones that are simple, but lasting. I predominately work in acrylic on canvas and tend to prefer larger formats, including murals, which I've been lucky enough to paint in multiple states. I’ve also worked extensively as a freelance illustrator with dozens of professional clients over the years, and I'm also proud of the children's book that I wrote and illustrated, which was published in the late 90's and is called "Imagine".
