I painted this inside an airbnb unit during art basel Miami. There was an opportunity for artists to paint various walls of an investment property that would be an Airbnb once completed.
Meet the Artist
Chicago, United StatesMy name is Mahmud, and/or Muddy for short, known on Instagram as MahmudTheMedium. I am an artist from Chicago and I have been creating art for most of my life.
I make art for those seeking some escapism from the mundane of the day to day grind. Escapism has always been important for my imagination, inspiration, and overall mental health. So step into my world and let my art be your escape, your refuge, your happy place if you will. Get lost in these textured multi-layered stories. Let the worries of the world fade away, and recharge that inner child of yours.
Within my art, I have developed a few original characters that represent a constant battle between negative and positive energy. My characters are used to depict emotions both good and bad, internal struggles, as well as internal victories. I strive to tell new and/or continued stories with each new piece that I create. My art is very narrative driven and different pieces tend to represent panels within the same story board. The world that I have created through art is called Onion City, a parallel world to Chicago as well as other places that I have lived in and traveled to.
