This is a concept design that presents a surrealist alternate universe showing a couple looking out at the sight of Northern Lights, as the spirit guide, who is presented as a fox, stands and watches next to them. This scene takes place at the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the United States, where I did this Illustration using coloured pencil to capture the entire landscape, including the reflection of the sea, the mountains, the colourful illusionary view of the lights, and the stillness of the characters.
Meet the Artist
London, United KingdomNicholas is a former graduate of Central Saint Martin's, London. As well as holding the prestigious MA award, he also holds a BA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Art.
Nicholas could draw before he could speak, and has always had a pen in his hand.
His two year Master's programme had given him a foundation of experience and practice in story-telling, character design, 2D animation, process and technology platforms - thus providing him with an opportunity to turn his years of creating comic books, screenplays and characters into reality and into a professional career.
Nicholas has a unique style where he brings his mastery of Fine Art into his animated world.
