Acrylic Art Pour - Create Beautiful One-Of-A-Kind Wall Art On Canvas
🎨 "Let Colors Flow and Craft a Masterpiece Uniquely Yours!" 🎨
This is an all-Level painting class focusing on acrylic art pour.
Students will create their own marbled art and brighten up their decor with a swirl of colors! We’ll learn the basics of paint pouring so students can marble their canvas in a few simple steps. It’s easy and fun!
The work space will be covered with plastic or another covering and a paint tray to catch the paint which will dripping off the canvas with this technique.
Base Coat Acrylic Paint - Either Black or White
Additional Colors - Up to 4 Colors in addition to color choice above. Contrasting colors are best for this technique. Meaning we will use light and dark paints to "float" on each other. Colors close in color do not work well in this paint method.
10 x 10 - Canvas
Floetrol Additive, (1) 8-10 oz cup and 4-5 small dixie cups about 2-6 oz in size, water and something to stir paint, Floetrol and water mix.
Each student will be given a pizza box to take the canvas home to dry. It takes about 48 to 72 hours to dry depending on how warm the weather is.
**Please wear old clothes that can get paint on them or an apron. I would also recommend gloves to help keep paint off hands while pouring, shifting paint on canvas.
My artistic journey has been an exhilarating ride through various mediums and techniques. I started with acrylic and acrylic enamel paints, applying them to everything from glass and ceramic to porcelain and canvas. In 2017, I decided to embrace the digital age and began creating art on my iPad Pro. It opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. By the end of 2019, I found myself drawn to the captivating flow of Acrylic Fluid Art and Dutch Pours on canvas, where colors seemed to dance and swirl in their own mesmerizing patterns.
In 2022, I took my fluid art to a new level with a series of acrylic fluid swipe paintings. This process involves mixing acrylic paint, Floetrol, and water in precise ratios, and then using wet paper towels to swipe the colors across the canvas. The results are always stunning and unexpected, each piece a unique masterpiece.
But my work is more than just creating art—it's about healing and giving back. My deepest passion lies in helping trauma survivors find a way to express their emotional pain through art. That’s why I founded the Heart of Colors Project, a non-profit dedicated to providing a safe, creative outlet for those who have experienced trauma.
I’m especially proud of my “Flowers in Bloom” glass series. These pieces are crafted from upcycled glass and painted with acrylic enamel. I source the glass, porcelain, and ceramic from local businesses, supporting my community and giving new life to items that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Each hand-painted piece is a celebration of sustainability and artistry.
I also love sharing my skills with others through teaching. Whether it's a class on hand-painted glass or an acrylic pour session, I offer both public workshops and private creative experiences, hoping to inspire others to find joy and expression through art.
I’m based in Tacoma, Washington, where I work from my cozy home studio. Here, surrounded by the vibrant energy of my creations, I continue to explore new ways to bring beauty and healing into the world.
