I've held onto the original photo this piece is based on for nearly two decades, and the memory remains vivid. We stayed at a little hotel in Tumut and attended the Boxing Day races earlier that day. I placed my digital camera on the car roof to capture the sunset. In that golden moment, time stood still, and everything felt simple and perfect.
