A trompe d'il
Railway 200: Art along the line
To celebrate Community Rail Week, Barton Cleethorpes CRP unveiled their latest addition to their Railway 200 project, "Art along the Line"
'. A trompe d'œil, French for trick of the eye, was
painted at Great Coates station over two blocked up doorways on the old ticket office building. It was painted to give the impression that the spaces were no longer blocked up by local artist Nikita
. The mural, "The Ticket Office" was commissioned by the CRP with funding from Community Rail Network and permission from East Midlands Railway and the owner of the property G Praid.
This is the second of our hand painted murals to be displayed on the Barton route and we aim to add more during the summer months. Officer of Barton Cleethorpes CRP, Dawn Branton, said
"We are really pleased with our latest addition to this exciting project. This breathtaking mural has made a very underwhelming corner of the station truly remarkable, and we have received many compliments from both station users and local residents."
Meet the Artist
Leeds, United KingdomI'm a mural artist currently in London and very willing to travel anywhere in the world. I specialize in creating large, vibrant, detailed murals to give any space a unique and captivating look. My work is inspired by a variety of cultures, from my vast travel experiences.
I strive to put my all into each piece I create and am constantly pushing myself to create something new and exciting. I'm always on the lookout for new ways to express myself and bring life to any given wall.
I consider myself a highly experienced artist, having created murals for both residential and commercial spaces around the world. Including London, Sydney, New York, and Rome to name a few. I also have a First Class Degree in Fine Art which I studied in the UK. I'm passionate about my art and I'm always looking forward to seeing what I can create next. I have won multiple awards over the years and dedicate my life to art and ensuring that you as my client, is 100% happy with my work.
