A Summer's Wish
Painted in the heart of Slave Lake, Alberta, A Summer’s Wish celebrates the magic of childhood. Inspired by moments of joy at the water’s edge, the mural features a young girl whose imagination brings the scene to life with bubbles drifting into the sky, friends playing along the shore, fireworks lighting the horizon, and castles built from dreams and sand.
This mural invites all who pass by to pause, remember the wonder of simple summer days, and believe that the world is still full of magic.
Meet the Artist
Edmonton, CanadaI’m Ashley, a multi award winning artist from Canada and I mainly paint large scale murals. I have run my business, Illustrious Interiors, for nearly 9 years and have been painting murals for over a decade. I am a multi-dimensional artist, but particularly love painting flowers, elements of nature, and interactive pieces. I am a self-taught artist, but continuing my practice has expanded my knowledge of art and enhanced my techniques. Over the course of 9 years, I have painted well over 800 residential and commercial murals, some just under 1,000 square feet. Most indoor murals take 1 to 2 days to complete, while larger outdoor public murals take 5 to 8 days. I work closely with communities through collaborative efforts to commit to inclusivity, connections, and dynamic compositions. My work has been featured both nationally and internationally.
