This mural is at the Moody Center in Austin. It was a venue that hosts UT basketball games, big name concerts, and other events. For this concept, I found inspiration from the song “Blackbird”, by the Beatles. Although the song may have several meanings, it is the underlying theme of receiving a sense of peace, whether individually or as a community. The birds on the branches symbolize a community creating a song of hope, together. I was also literally inspired by music notes. I used a piano music sheet of the song “Blackbird” as a reference for the placement of the branches and the birds. This is all in spray paint. The dimensions are approximately 25' x 30'.
