A Day at the Seashore - original artwork by Ania Salmina in Vancouver

I'm a professional Artist and Architect based in Vancouver, BC. My visual art experience is more than 20 years. I have a strong academic base in both: painting and graphic techniques. My art education began at a young age with gouache still lifes, nature paintings, clay practice, and engraving prints. Later, my interest shifted to Architecture where I mastered graphic skills by drawing human anatomy, advanced geometric shapes compositions, and architecture drawings. After graduating with a Master of Architecture it was a long journey of employment as an Architect and being a wife, a mom, an immigrant. In 2020 while the world went crazy with the pandemic everything changed and so did my life plans. The next couple of years I spent playing with body shapes where I reached the recognizable style of capturing people with huge hands and tiny heads. This style is the base for my commercial work.
