A Collection of Recollection
In some cultures hair is the indirect extension of the human mind , therefore the experiences your hair endures are said to be related to the brain , thus hair is said to hold memories . While some people cut hair to move forward with identity , some cultures forbid cutting such a sacred part of the body . This pen work is related to the concept of Medusa and how her onec beautiful hair was transformed into locks of snakes by Athena , that scared off everyone . My work talks about how sometimes our experiences that lead to memories , can often become reminders that limit us from moving forward , making us bitter and vicious . To me this piece talks about the theory of epistemic innocence and how sometimes the ability to forget is a gift , rather than having to hold on to the burden of traumatic memories till the end of time .
