24601 by Sujin in Converse

This is the tea series that i did on 2021. I enjoy the tea since I can’t drink coffee- it gives me headache. On the other hand, tea gives me excitement and joy while letting me relax. I loved working on these pieces thinking it is “still life” but I was painting “flow” -motion of the scene. I want to present the calmness through the art pieces and let audience to experience relax and comfort feeling while viewing the painting and be in the moment with that ‘still-flow.’ This particular piece got sold in a coffee shop. On island Guam, local coffee/sandwich shop presented my art for 2 weeks and somebody find the good home for this beauty. I love movie Les Misérables, and tea pots being side by side reminded me of the prisoners being all coop up together- I named the piece ‘24601’.
