2008, painting a large canvas
Painting an Andean hybrid themed mythology, an accumulation of genesis myths I learned about living with Bolivian and Peruvian shamans between 2005 and 2005. Here, my partner and I settled down in uptown Arequipa. I taped the canvas onto our living room wall and began painting. The painting was based on an oil pastel artwork I made in 2004 in Brussels.
Medium: acrylic paint
Collection: fantasy, landscape, animals
Meet the Artist
Krong Siem Reap, CambodiaMy practice is defined by a global perspective, a journey traced through a series of international exhibitions and editorial recognitions. In 2023, my work was featured across several prominent platforms and publications, including the Global Talent Art Prize, Goddess Art Magazine, Pearview Art Gallery, and Culturally Arts via Artsy. My recent years have been marked by a transition into the digital and virtual spheres. In 2021, I exhibited with the Angular Virtual Art Gallery across Paris and New York, following a year of experimental virtual shows and pop-up galleries during the 2020 shift toward remote viewing. For the past five years, I have maintained a continuous digital archive of my evolving process on Instagram at alann_dv. Before moving into the virtual space, my work was rooted in physical galleries worldwide. Key milestones include a 2018 showing at Galerie Artisan in Kreuzberg/Berlin and participation in Artundressed in Florida and the Art Fair Malaga in Spain in 2017. In 2016, I exhibited “Through Your Eyes” at the Fine Art Academy Gallery in Colombo and showcased work at the Goldi Sands Hotel in Negombo, Sri Lanka. My earlier career highlights include the 2014 exhibition "El Amerindigena De Alann" at Caja Financiera in Trujillo, Peru, and being selected for the 2013 Open Art Staffordshire at the Shire Hall in the UK.
