'WARRiOR' by Andrew Purdie in Auckland

'WARRiOR'

The 'WARRiOR' piece represents the juxtapositions of old school to new school art in the form of a singularity between humanity and technology (i.e., AI right side below turquoise dot/synapse). Based on the Greek Goddess, Diana is a goddess in Roman and Hellenistic religion, primarily considered a patroness of the countryside, hunters, crossroads, and the Moon. She is equated with the Greek goddess Artemis, and absorbed much of Artemis' mythology early in Roman history, including a birth on the island of Delos to parents Jupiter and Latona, and a twin brother, Apollo, though she had an independent origin in Italy. The 3D-printed styled section at the back of the head is a play on modern artistry and AI. The multifocal point, turquoise dot above the head, symbolizes the firing synapses in the brain which are inspired by independent thought, creativity and choice. The concentration, once complete, will include 13 Greek Gods.
